exercise 1 by nick fox

I analyzed the review “fury review-Brad Pitt answers the call of duty…in a tank”( http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/oct/23/fury-review-brad-pitt-second-world-war-drama), it was published by The Guardian a very popular review site that many people trust and uses. The reviewer is Peter Bradshaw, Bradshaw has worked for The Guardian for many years and has wrote 3 novels and graduated from Pembroke college with his PhD in English. The conclusion of the review was 3 stars out of five saying the film was based off of the video game call of duty and also very similar to other video game like movies like inglorious bastards. I believe this review is biased they clearly do not like the theme of the film so they deceived to give it a bad review insulting the general feel of the movie and different scenes. One critic explains how in the scene where Pitt takes off his shirt he is chiseled and very muscular. And that this is unrealistic for the time period because to become this muscular you would need to spend an extensive time in a gym which people did not have time for let alone a soldier that is stuck in a tank all day. This is clearly their way of trying to grab at anything to discredit the film to have an excuse to give it a bad review. They use Brad Pitts quote saying that war is not a video game, they use accounts of interviews with Pitt and his previous films the judge the film. The is a feel of a lack of historical accuracy in this review and much of the view relies on this value of historical accuracy.
