Upon reading the chapter I did a review on the movie "Lincoln" by Steven Spielberg. One article that gave me insights for my review was by the New York Times. Here is a link to the review, Lincoln Review. The article showed me the correct way to organize my review. They also included many pictures of the film to show you examples of scenes and what the characters looked like. The descriptions were very well written using explanatory words. This was a great movie. The film expressed the behind the scenes of the Civil War. There were some battlefield scenes but not very many. The main focus is on Lincoln himself. There is the constant struggle between him and the republicans against the democrats. The republicans are trying to pass the 13th amendment freeing slaves. The democrats are pro-slavery though. The film goes through the resolution process of the signing and how it became law. I could get into more detail but you will just have to watch the movie yourself. It may not be your kind of movie if you do not like a lot of talking. There is some strong violence and language as well.

I agree with what you said about Eric Weiner's review. I'm glad you explained it in full because that did clear some things up, too, explaining it better. The review for Lincoln was very good as well, well written with good criteria, yet another helpful example of what a good review contains.
ReplyDeleteI think the review for Lincoln was a prime example of what a great review should look like. It was firm, concise, and had all the criteria you would look for in a review to learn more about a movie or book. Excellent choice and it really helped me as an example review to write my own review.
