I personally enjoyed The Lanyard poem more. The author has somewhat of a dry sense of humor and was able to use something a simple as a lanyard to show that the love and sacrifices our mothers have made for us is something that can never fully be repaid. The phrases that stuck out to me the most were at the end when he said that as she took this lanyard out of his hands, something he wove out of boredom, that he knew they were even. To me, this is saying that our mother's love is so strong and everlasting, that a gift so simple as a lanyard could mean the world to her. I found that to be very powerful.
Here is a picture of Chief and I the day after I rescued him. I know this is sappy but true, he is the one that saved me. :)

Hi Abigail! Wow that's crazy that you are one of 54 grandchildren! It must be really fun when you all get together. I looove the fact that you rescued a puppy out of someone's backpack! That is both crazy and inspiring at the same time. I am a huge dog lover and I also have a puppy of my own that is almost 9 months old along with 2 other dogs!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered what Catholic schooling was like. It can not be as bad as some people make it out to be. Also I think you rescuing that dog was cool and interesting. I have a dog myself. She is a Mastidane. She definetly can not fit in a backpack though.
