Chapter 7 was very interesting. It provided a great deal of information on profiles. When reading I learned the importance of be very detailed in doing a profile. It is basically about a certain subject and it has to be specific. It also has to be organized so the reader does not get confused. The most important I think is pictures. It provides the reader an idea of what you are talking about. If it is a person it shows emotion. If it is landscape it gives you an idea of what it is like. The best example in my opinion was An Empire for Poor Working Women Guided by a Gandhian Approach by, Somni Sengupia. The first page gives us an idea of the workers described in the title and provides a quote under it that explains what it is going to be about. It then begins to explain how the Self-Employed Women's Association has helped many women find jobs. She also explains how Ela Bhatt has helped a lot. There was also a story on how they helped a girl named Narmrata Rajhari.
I found this amazing article by The New York Times. It was about a runner named Meb Keflezighi. Lindsay Crouse explains his story and how he had just one the Boston Marathon last year. He explains how it was very different from any other marathons he has won such as the New York. He had also one a silver in the Olympics. They also go on to explain how his life was during his dropout from nike. It is a very interesting article. It teaches us discipline can take you the distance.
You can read more on the article at, http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/20/sports/meb-keflezighi-is-back-in-boston-this-time-as-a-superstar.html?ref=sports&_r=0

The article you found looks very interesting, especially since the whole Boston bombing escapade. The picture you found to go along with the article is really descriptive in features to show how thankful and grateful the runner felt after crossing the finish line.
ReplyDeleteMeb is one of my favorite athletes! He's very inspirational and a great person inside and out.
ReplyDeleteThis article on Meb is really interesting. The fact that she has a silver Olympic medal must mean that he is a great runner and is very determined to accomplish what he does. I do believe that discipline does help someone achieve their goals.
